About

Associate professor, Head of Department “Mental Health” at the National Centre of Public Health and Analyses, Sofia, Bulgaria. Vladimir studied medicine at the Medical University – Pleven. Since 1998 he worked at several psychiatric hospitals as a psychiatrist. In 2003, he became a specialist in psychiatry. Since January 2015 he is defending PhD study in the field of social medicine. Since 2007 Vladimir Nakov has been working in the field of mental health promotion and prevention of mental disorders, especially of prevention of suicide in Bulgaria. He wrote over 50 publications for academic journals and book for suicides in Bulgaria. Participated in several international projects in the field of mental health. Lecturer at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and South-Western University of Blagoevgrad. He is a contributor to national newspapers, TV and radio.
