He graduated with a degree in Medicine from MU-Pleven in 1990. Specialist in neurology since 1994. Speciality trainings in neuromuscular diseases, electromyography, electroencephalography, neuromuscular ultrasound, botulinum toxin injection at University Centers in London, Cambridge and Oxford, UK, Hadassah University Hospitals – Jerusalem, Israel, Gutenberg – Mainz, Germany. He defended dissertation thesis in the field of clinical neurophysiology in 2005 and was elected associate professor at MU-Pleven in 2007. In 2014, he defended his PhD thesis in the field of neuroimmunology and cerebrovascular diseases and obtained the scientific title of PhD in Medical Sciences. He was elected professor of neurology at MU-Sofia in 2015. From 1990 to 2011, he worked as a specialist neurologist and assistant professor in neurology at Dr. Georgi Stranski University Hospital – Pleven. Since 2010 he has been fully GMC registered with a license to practice in the United Kingdom. For over 10 years Prof. Tsvetanov has been a Consultant in the University Centers of London, Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Edinburgh. Visiting Consultant at Ibn Sina University Hospital of Neurosurgery and Neurology, Kuwait. He has published more than 100 scientific works, 2 monographs and 30 papers in renowned international scientific journals. He has been cited over 600 times abroad, his autobiographical data has been released in the International Biographical Center of Cambridge, England and Marquis “Who’s Who in Medicine”. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the British Peripheral Nerve Society and the British Society of Clinical Neurophysiology. Chairman of the supervisory board of the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Neurology, member of the management board of the Clinical Electromyography and Evoked Potentials Association. His main interests include general neurology, epilepsy, migraine, peripheral nerve and muscle diseases, vascular neurology. He is a certified specialist in the country and abroad in clinical electromyography, clinical electroencephalography, evoked potentials and ultrasonography of peripheral nerves and muscles. Extensive professional experience in injecting botulinum toxin in dystonia, spasticity and migraine.
