I am Dr. Vasil Jenkov, MD, PhD. I'm a specialist psychiatrist in Sofia with over 20 years of medical experience. Je suis Dr Jenkov, je suis psychiatre avec plus de 20 ans d'ancienneté. Mon cabinet est situé au centre-ville de Sofia. Je propose également des téléconsultations. I consult for psychological problems such as: anxiety-related issues, sleep disorders, burnout, life crises, panic disorder, substance-related issues, depression but also for mental disorders of all types. My approach is evidence-based and empathic. I also work with families. I consult in Bulgarian, French and English. I graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 2005. I have a specialty in Psychiatry and a PhD degree since 2014. • Member of the Bulgarian Medical Union, the Private Psychiatry College and the French Medical Union; • Author of scientific articles on topics such as alcohol dependence and schizophrenia; • 2007 - Specialization: The typology of alcohol dependence according to Lesch at the Medical University of Vienna; • Certified Motivational Interviewing Therapist at the University of Montpellier Nimes, as well as at the University of California, San Diego; • Diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Therapist at the Institute for Ecology of Thinking, Sofia. During the first 10 years of my career I was a hospital psychiatrist and assistant professor at the Medical University (MU) of Sofia. As an assistant professor I teached psychiatry to Bulgarian and international students of medicine and dentistry at the MU of Sofia. From 2016 to 2025, I offered inpatient and outpatient care (in a Centre médico-psychologique-CMP) in France. Since the beginning of 2025, I've been practicing primarily online with French patients and taking on missions in France. I am currently developing my private practice at Avenir Mental in Sofia but also online.
